The health services administrated on the Karaburun
Peninsula are, just like anywhere else in the world, primarily
consisting of preventive and healing health care. As far as the
available means allow, the health authorities have aimed at making this
kind of health services accessible throughout the peninsula. Especially
with regards to preventive health care, this is very important.
The Health
authorities of the Karaburun Peninsula govern a health center in Karaburun
City with a capacity of 10 beds and three other health centers in
Mordogan, Küçükbahçe, Eglenhoca and Kösedere.
The main Health
Center in Karaburun City is located in a two-store building, equipped with
central heating and a power generator. The Health Center in Karaburun City
contains a laboratory, x-ray, dentist and a delivery unit, with 24 hours
service. The Health Center also has an ambulance.
The
staff of the Karaburun Health Center consists of one family doctor, eight
practitioners, four nurses, five midwives, one environmental health
technician, one anti-malaria program worker, one civil servant and four
employees.
The Mordogan Health Center is staffed with three practitioners, three
nurses, two health workers and two midwives.
The
Karaburun and Mordogan Health Centers are also providing pregnancy
follow-up care, infant and child vaccinations, and health training in the
schools as well as training seminars on health topics.
