There
are three primary and secondary schools on the Karaburun Peninsula: one in
Karaburun City, one in the township of Mordogan and one in the village of
Eglenhoca. In Karaburun City and in Mordogan there are two high schools.
Primary and secondary
school of Karaburun City
The
primary and secondary school of Karaburun City was founded during the
school year of 1926 – 1927. During the school year of 1975 - 1976, it
was upgraded to a regional school. In 1983, the school moved to a new
building with 18 classrooms.
The
school counts 351 students and 22 teachers. 102 students are transported
every day from and to the surrounding villages.
Süleyman Nihat Üzümcü
Primary and secondary school of Mordogan
The Süleyman
Nihat Üzümcü Primary and secondary school of Mordogan was founded as a
primary school during the school year of 1952 - 1953 and upgraded to a 8
years lasting primary and secondary school during the school year 1996 –
1997. The school counts 393 students and 14 teachers.
The school building
has 10 classrooms. 70 students are coming from the surrounding villages.
Primary and secondary
school of Eglenhoca
The
primary and secondary school of Eglenhoca village was closed down during
the school year of 1996 - 1997 and the students sent to the primary and
secondary school in Mordogan. However, due to a regulation saying that the
presence of at least 15 students in the first three grades gives the
possibility to open the school, the primary school of Eglenhoca village
was reopened during 2002-2003.

education
Both Karaburun and Mordogan primary and secondary school have a
pre-school class attended by 22 girls and 15 boys
Karaburun
High School
Karaburun High School was founded as a secondary school in 1954.
During 1978-1979, it was upgraded to a full high school. Today the
Karaburun High School counts 70 students and 17 teachers.
Fatma
Emin Karaagaç Multi-program High School of Mordogan
The high school of Mordogan was founded as a secondary school during
1984–1985. In 1987-1988, it moved to the building constructed with the
funding of Fatma and Emin Karaagaç and was upgraded to a high school.
During the school year of 1997 – 1998 an accountants department was
added and the school thus became a multi-program high school. The high
school counts 102 students and 23 teachers. The building contains five
classrooms. |
